LMGTE: Porsche dominates
Kevin Estre qualifies his #92 Porsche 911 1st, gaining an important point with his teammate Neel Jani in the battle for GTE World Endurance Drivers’ Championship against James Calado - Alessandro Pier Guidi with their #51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo. The British/Italian pair keeps a 12-point lead over Porsche’s tandem Kevin Estre – Neel Jani, heading into the penultimate race of the season tomorrow.
Gianmaria Bruni qualifies his #91 Porsche 911 RSR in P2. Together with and Richard Lietz they are theoretically still in the run, with 49 points behind the Ferrari duo in the current championship.
The Ferrari 488 GTE Evos have been given a reduction in turbo boost for this weekend’s race, which reduces severely Calado’s and Pier Guidi's chances for a good result. This was confirmed in each of the free practices and qualification.
