Together with Porsche and Lamborghini who bring an IMSA LMDh each at Le Mans, Cadillac brings two IMSA based LMDh to Le Mans (#3 which is #01 in IMSA and #311 which is #31 in IMSA).

For the second consecutive year, Cadillac Racing will return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June with three Cadillac V-Series.R hybrid racecars.

Reigning IMSA Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) champion Pipo Derani participated in a media Zoom call March 6 to preview the 72nd Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Cadillac on March 16.

Cadillac generally set the pace in the first quarter of the 62nd running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona but Matt Campbell in the #7 Porsche Penske Motorsport Porsche 963 was leading the race at the 6 hours mark.

Alex Palou with the #01 Cadillac V-Series.R topped the time sheet in the morning and afternoon test sessions Thursday as Pipo Derani did in evening session in preparation for the 62nd Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Both Customer Porsche 963s dominated Saturday afternoon’s #4 session test by setting the top two laps of the session at Daytona International Speedway.

Pipo Derani tops day 1 time sheets of testing at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 ahead of De Philippi (BMW) and Tandy (Porsche). Kathrine Egge topped both GTD and GTD PRO classes.

Both Cadillac V-Series.R will start from front row the 12 Hours of Sebring tomorrow at 10am as Pipo Derani with Whelen Endineering Racing Cadillac #32 clinched pole today during 12 Hours of Sebring qualifying. Sebastien Bourdais, second with Cadillac Racing #01 (0.087 sec. slower than Derani), will also start from first row.

The race in GTD PRO was very intense with the top 3 ending within 5 sec. Matthieu Jaminet won the class with Pfaff Motorsport Porsche #9 co-driven by Matt Campbell and Felipe Nasr.

The race was very tight from start to finish as the top 4 finished within 5.615 sec., after having exchanged the lead in the closing hours and seeing all seven DPi cars on the lead during the first half of the race.

Many changes of leaders during the first half of the race with the 7 DPi’s within 5.5 sec. Currently #5 JDC Miller Motorsport Cadillac holds the lead thanks to less pits than competitors. In GTE PRO, 6 cars are within 6.6 sec.

Four time Indy car Champion Sebastien Bourdais dominated the session and was the only one to cover the lap in less than 1:35 with his #01 V-Performance Academy Cadillac.

Poor weather conditions for the Thursday sessions with a mostly wet track.

The second practice saw some dryer laps enabling the 2 WEC 2021 World Drivers Champions to perform the fastest laps with K. Kobayashi (#48 Ally Cadillac) in P1 and M. Conway (#31 Whelen Engineering Racing) in P2. 

Ricky Taylor, Filipe Albuquerque, Alexander Rossi and Will Stevens will start the 60th running of the 24 hours of Daytona from pole as Taylor and Albuquerque won the Rolex qualifying 100 minutes race this Sunday.
