Derani tops ROAR day 1
Pipo Derani put the #31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R on top of day 1 testing time sheets at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 ahead of De Philippi (BMW) and Tandy (Porsche). Kathrine Egge topped both GTD and GTD PRO classes.
GTP
Pipo Derani with defending GTP Champions Whelen Engineering Cadillac Racing’s Cadillac V-Series.R went to the top of the leaderboard in the final minutes of session #2 setting the day’s Benchmark at 1:35.217.
Connor De Phillippi with #25 BMW M Hybrid V8 laid down a best lap of 1:35.594, 0.377 seconds slower than Derani.
Nick Tandy with #6 Penske Porsche 963 set the third-best performance of the day during the morning session in 1:35.617. All three drivers are just within 0.400 seconds.
Augusto Farfus with #24 BMW M Hybrid V8 was fourth, 0,435 seconds slower than Derani.

LMP2
Christian Rasmussen in the #18 Era Motorsport Oreca 07 Gibson was the quickest LMP2 of the day with a lap time of 1:39.674, 0.253 seconds ahead of Nolan Siegel in the #33 Sean Creech Motorsport Ligier JS P217 Gibson.
GTD and GTD PRO
Katherine Legge with the #66 Gradient Racing Acura NSX GT3 she shares with Sheena Monk, Tatiana Calderon and Stevan McAleer was the fastest of both GTD and GTD PRO thanks to her best lap of 1:46.289 lap during session #1.
Monk’s fastest lap was 0.205 seconds faster than Christopher Mies’ 1:46.494 lap (#65 Mustang GT3) in Session 2 topping the GTD PRO class. Jan Heylen was the fastest GTD driver in Session 2 (third of the day) at 1:46.741 (0.452 seconds slower than Egge) with #120 Wright Motorsports‘ Porsche 911 GT3 R (992).
