Five Ferrari 296 GT3 at 3 Hours of Nürburgring
After their second-place finish at the 24 Hours of Spa in June, a race they dominated before being stopped entering pit lace, Alessandro Pier Guidi, Alessio Rovera and Davide Rigon come to the Nürburgring for the third round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered By AWS Endurance Cup aiming to confirm their status among the key players of the endurance series.
Pier Guidi, Rovera, and Rigon are third in the overall drivers’ standings, 15 points behind the leaders.
AF Corse – Francorchamps Motors is third in the teams’ standings, 14 points behind Spa winning ComTomYou. The team will be able to count on a second Ferrari 296 GT3 to score points for the team should the leading #51 not be able to do so. #71 “sister” car with Thomas Neubauer, Vincent Abril and David Vidales will seek to make up for the Belgian round where the trio retired after 236 laps.
Three teams in Bronze class with Ferrari 296 GT3
Two Teams are currently leading the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered By AWS Endurance Cup Bronze Team: AF Corse in first position with 57 points ahead of Sky Tempesta Racing with 43 points.
So do their drivers in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered By AWS Endurance Cup Bronze Driver: factory driver Andrea Bertolini with Louis and Jeff Machiels are among the favourites for the category title with 57 points, 14 ahead of Eddie Cheever, Jonathan Hui and Christopher Froggatt in Sky Teampesta Racing Ferrari #93.

The third Bronze class Ferrari 296 GT3 is run by Frikadelli Racing who won the first round (Bronze class) at Le Castellet with David Fumanelli, Nicolo Rosi and Niccolo Schiro driving #8 Ferrari 296 GT3.
At Spa, Nicolò Rosi was involved in an accident that left him with a rib fracture, hence the #8 will not take part in the 3 Hours of Nürburgring. The #8 was still classified (111 laps behind the class winners) scoring 7 points for the team. Christian Hook, Felipe Fernandez Laser, Fabrizio Crestani, David Perel driving the #333 had to abandon after 78 laps (3 hours 38 minutes).
At the Nürburgring, the #333 will be driven by Klaus Abbelen, David Perel and Felipe Fernandez-Laser who won the 2023 24 Hours of Nürburgring with the Frikadelli Ferrari 296 GT3 #33.
