LM GTE @ 6 Hours of Silverstone 2018

Third race of the SuperSeason, third manufacturer win. After Ford at Francorchamps, Porsche at Le Mans, the 6 hours of Silverstone were won by AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE #51 A. Pier Guidi and J. Calado.

The Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK cars were the favorites based on practices and qualifications but Ford GT #67 ended 3rd. After disqualification of Porsche #91 (ending 2nd) Andy Priaulx and Harry Tinknell werer classified 2nd.

Porsche 911 RSR #92 of Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen ended third 4.274 seconds behind the Ford.

Aston Martin were back as a predominant player in the field with Maxime Martin and Alexander Lynn qualifying second and finishing 4th with their Aston martin Vantage GTE #97.

BMW Team MTEK were not yet in the run finishing 5th with M. Tomczyk and N. Catsburg driving BMW #81.

The Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK’s Ford GT #66 of Olivier Pla and Stefan Mücke finished sixth after being forced to replace a door during a pit stop.

This was how #66 lost a podium and two laps to sister car. (Qualifying time of #66 was 1:55.727).

Egor Orudzhev's #17 lost grip and made contact with Molina and his #71 AF Corse Ferrarid 488 GTE. The No. 71 ultimately finished second to last thanks to a brake issue on car #95.

The Aston Martin Racing Vantage #95 driven by marco Sorensen and Nicki Thiim went from near the LMGTE Pro lead to last classified car due to a brake repair.

The #82 BMW Team MTEK BMW M8 GTE driven bu Antonio Felix da Costa and Augusto Farfus had a suspension failure, forcing its retirement after 116 laps.

The #91 Porsche GT Team driven by Gianmaria Bruni and Richard Lietz was disqualified for incorrect ride height in post-race scrutineering. They lost their second place in class due to the infringement.

The Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR driven by Julien Andlauer, Matt Campbell and Christian Reid won the LMGTE AM class.
