4 Hours of Algarve LMP2 & LMP3 Races
Kyffin Simpson with Algarve Pro racing Oreca #25 lead the pack at turn 1.
At the end of the first lap, Marino Sato with #22 United Autosports USA had already jumped from P6 to P3. It just took him 3 more laps to overtake #28 IDEC Sport and be second overall.
Heavy rain fell during lap 17 when Yoluc (#34 Racing Team Turkey Oreca) went off-road causing a caution from lap 18 to 23. The race restarted for 2 laps until Laursen (#50 Formula Racing Ferrari) went also sandbagging causing a new FCY followed by SC (lap 26 to 30). Teams took the opportunity to pit.
The ranking was shaken up with the driver changes (from lap 39 to lap 48) but #25 regained leadership at lap 49, #22 was back on P2 at lap 51.

From lap 58, #65 Panis Racing, #30 Duqueine Team and #47 Cool Racing were fighting for 3rd place with new caution from lap 62 to 68 and a series of pit stops that saw #30 taking the lead of the race during 5 laps, #47 during one lap.
#22 United Autosport with Phil Hanson took the lead from lap 79 to 94 which was taken back by #25 Algarve Pro Racing from lap 95 onwards.
π· Luc Warnotte at 4 Hours of Algarve. The sequence of event during lap 114, when Oliver Jarvis (#22) took the inside to #25 leader in turn 5 which was immediately followed by a last FCY, SC freezing the positions.
The race was resumed for one lap with #22 United Autosport crossing checkered flag first ahead of #25 Algarve Pro Racing who clinch the overall Championship.
Panis Racing #65 end third with Job Van Uitert, Manuel Maldonado and Tijmen Van Der Helm.
Cool Racing #47 with Vladislav Lomko, Reshad De GΓ©rus and Jose Maria Lopez end fourth
#30 Duqueine Team driven by Nicolas Pino, RenΓ© Binder and Neel jani end fifth in the same lap as the winner.
LMP2 Pro-Am winner
#24 Nielsen Racing Oreca crossed checkered flag sixt overall and first LMP2 Pro-Am but was given a 10 second penalty for Mathias Beche causing a contact with #83 AF Corse Oreca.
#37 COOL Racing Oreca driven by Malthe Jakobsen clinched the LMP2 Pro/Am victory.
The fight for LMP2 Pro-Am class championship becomes thereby very close with the top three contenders within 3 points ahead of the last race this Sunday. (#83 leads with 85 points ahead of #37 on 83 points and #34 Racing Team Turkey on 82 points).
LMP3 race
Inter Europol Competition #13 did lead the LMP3 pack 44 laps out of the first 75 laps until the Ligier JSP320 went on fire!
#12 WTM by Rinaldi Racing Duqueine of Leo Weiss, Torsten Kratz and Oscar Tunjo did lead the race at different times (31 out of the 116 in total) and won the LMP3 class 20 seconds ahead of the no35 Ultimate Ligier in second and the no4 DKR Engineering Duqueine.
#17 COOL Racing driven by Adrien Chila, Alejandro Garcia and Marcos Siebert finished 4th, clinching the 12 points that secure the #17 COOL Racing Ligier the Championship for the second year in a row.
