4 Hours of Algarve LMGTE Race
Aston Martin leads the first third of the race
Robin Arnold with #72 TF Sport Aston Martin remained firmly leader of the LMGTE class ahead of Christian Ried with #77 Porsche who jumped from P4 on the grid. MΓΆller follows with #44 Aston Martin, Johnny Laursen with #50 Formula Racing Ferrari is on his left side and Hardwick with Porsche #16 (behind #50) has passed Duncan Cameron with #55 Ferrari.
A heavy rain fell at lap 15 forcing teams to pit enabling Laursen (Ferrari #50) to take the lead during 5 laps until he went sandbagging. The class lead was then back in the hands of Arnold with #72 Aston Martin ahead of M. Berry with #66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari (who also took the lead during 5 laps) and Takeshi Kimura with Kessel Racing Ferrari #57 third. Christian Ried with #77 Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR and Ryan Hardwick with #16 Porsche fell back fell back in the ranking.
After leading during 25 laps, Arnold had to pass the lead to sister car #95 for 11 laps.
Porsche takes the lead
From lap 47 onwards, Zacharie Robichon took the lead with Porsche #16 during 50 laps. (#57 Kessel Racing Ferrari took P1 during 5 laps being in an asynchronous pitting).
During the last stints, Alessio Picariello (#16) was still ahead of Julien Andlauer with sister car #77. Until Andlauer took over Picariello with 18 laps to go and crossed checkered flag first.
Hat Trick for Proton Competition
Proton competition succeed a hat trick by squatting the podium of the 4 hours of Algarve LMGTE class with three of the four Porsche 911 RSR-19 on the grid.
