4 Hours of Portimao qualifying

Changing track conditions for those last qualifying sessions of the European Le Mans Series 2023 championship. Drivers had to rely on their best skills to chose between slicks and intermediate tires as well as following the right line on track.

#28 IDEC Sport will start from pole

Job van Uitert, Paul Loup Chatin and Oliver Jarvis have been battling during the last three laps of the session changing the ranking every lap as they were crossing the start line. It is finally Paul Loup Chatin with IDEC Sport #28 Oreca who did set the Benchmark, 0.573 seconds ahead of Oliver Jarvis with United Autosports USA #22. He’ll start from pole the 4 Hours of Portimao.

Giorgio Roda tops LMP2 Pro-Am

Giorgio Roda with #99 Proton Competition Oreca did follow the dry line like a laser which made him the fastest of LMP2 Pro-Am. He was 0.137 seconds faster than S. Yoluc with #34 Racing Team Turkey who had been on top of the ranking until the checkered flag.

Gaël Julien with #15 RLR M Sport Ligier JS 0320 is pole sitter of LMP3 class after a thrilling qualifying session during which the fastest laps were set in the last lap.

Porsche #16 in pole of LMGTE class

Ryan Hardwick posted the fastest lap of the session with #16 Proton Competition ahead of Takeshi Kimura with Kessel Racing #57 Ferrari 488 GTE EVO and Christian Ried with #77 Porsche 911 RSR-19. #16 Proton Competition clinches thereby an additional point in the Championship they now lead with 4 points.
