4 Hours of Algarve qualifying
The four qualifying sessions of this afternoon’s 4 Hours of Algarve saw changing track conditions with a heavy shower before the LMGTE took the track. When LMP3 started their session, they benefited from a drying line following LMGTE qualifying but after a few laps, the rain started to fall again. LMP2 Pro-Am started their session with a clear sky (wet then drying track) and LMP2 could qualify under shining sun but with some parts of the track still wet.
#25 Algarve Pro Racing will start from pole
James Allen with the #25 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca was the fastest of all sessions. By clinching pole, his team takes the championship point for pole position and extend their lead to 18 points.
Team Virage achieves the double
Alexander Mattschull with #19 Team Virage Oreca was the fastest of LMP2 Pro-Am.
Manuel Espirito Santo with #8 Team Virage Ligier was able to set an early lap which ended to be the fastest of LMP3 qualifying session as the rain started to fall.
An Aston Martin in pole of LMGTE
Arnold Robin posted the fastest lap of the session with #72 TF Sport Aston Martin almost one second (0.958s) faster than Johnny Laursen in the #50 Formula Racing Ferrari who will also start from front row of LMGTE penultimate race in ELMS.
