LMGTE farewell to ELMS at Portimao

The end of an era

The final two races of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) Championship marks the end for the Le Mans Grand Touring Endurance (LMGTE) category after thirteen seasons. There is still one more race in the FIA World Endurance Championship in Bahrain, before the category is replaced with LMGT3 in 2024.

Since 2011, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche have been battling during 67 Le Mans Series and European Le Mans Series races with Ferrari winning 45 times, Porsche 23 times, Aston Martin 4 times. BMW won one race when they joined the European Le Mans Series for one season in 2015. We saw a Corvette C7-Z06 for one race at Monza.
