FIA WEC 2025 provisional list part 1: Hypercar
The FIA World Endurance Championship has published a provisional entry list for the 2025 season featuring new additions with Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin joining. The list features 36 cars split between 18 Hypercars and 18 LMGT3. We review both lists in two parts

Alpine, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota are now joined by Aston Martin featuring the Valkyrie that we saw at Daytona during IMSA Teams Testing at Daytona. With Hertz Team JOTA now running the two official Cadillcs, the Hypercar list only features two non-factory entries: #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P and #Proton Competition Porsche 963.

2024 Manufacturers champion TOYOTA GAZOO Racing will defend their title and fight for its sixth victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours with its established and proven driver line-up:

Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries will participate in the #7 GR010 HYBRID for a second successive season together, having won one race in 2024. Kamui and Nyck finished third in the drivers’ standings this year.
Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa have won two world titles and one Le Mans crown together during their three seasons in the #8 GR010 HYBRID and they will attempt to add to that in 2025. Buemi is the team’s longest-serving driver, having made his debut in its first race, at Le Mans in 2012.

2023 and 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Ferrari will continue with an unchanged Hypercar class driver line-up for a third consecutive season:
The #50 499P Le Mans Hypercar will be raced in 2025 by Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen and Miguel Molina;
the #51 by James Calado, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Antonio Giovinazzi.
The #83 AF Corse’s Ferrari 499P features Robert Kubica and Yeffe Ye as last year with Phil Hanon replacing Schwatzmann who is due to participate to the INDICAR series.

2024 World Endurance Driver Champions Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor will share the #6 Porsche 963.
Julien Andlauer will co-driver the #5 car with Michael Christensen.
Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet have been confirmed as additional drivers for selected races including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Paul Loup Chatin and Charles Milesi are the first drivers listed for the Alpine A424.
Dries Vanthoor and Rene Rast are the base line for BMW M Team WRT BMW M Hybrid V8 #15 and 20 respectively.
Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA announces former #2 drivers in the two V-Series.R entries with Alex Lynn in #12 Cadillac and Earl Bamber in sister #38.
Jean-Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne will drive respectively the Peugeot 9X8 #93 and #94.
