WEC- 6 Hours of Spa-Fracorchamps: Thursday practices
The 6 hours of Spa-Francorchamps Thursday practices were run in clear conditions with Toyota #8 dominating their rivals in the morning practice by more than 1.6 sec. and Ferrari managing to tie the game, even beating the time set by the #8 during the second session.
Hypercars top 5 of the day
During the afternoon practice (second of the day) Antonio Giovinazzi with #51 Ferrari 499P managed to beat the benchmark time set in morning practice by Sebastien Buemi with #8 Toyota GR010 LMH.
Miguel Molina with #50 Ferrari 499P was second of the afternoon session putting both Ferrari ahead of all Hypercars. It puts his squad in P3 of the day.
Earl Bamber was third in the afternoon session with #2 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac V-Series.R which enables the Cadillac Racing team to set the fourth performance of the day.
Alex Lynn comment: “Just excited to get this car on the track; another new adventure for us on the WEC team. I think the car performance was good and we’re right there. With WEC, you have to be on it from the start. You have to have a good baseline setup, drivers ready to go because the weather – especially here – offers a mixture of things so we need to have everyone ready and the car in a good window. Jose Maria Lopez did set the eighth fastest lap of the afternoon session with #7 Toyota GR010 HYBRID which puts his Toyota as fifth of the day. Following Toyota Gazoo racing source, « focus in second practice switched to analysing the characteristics of the different compounds of Michelin tyre, with priority on maximising performance for Saturday's race. »
