Lamborghini Iron Lynx completes first two-days test
Lamborghini Iron Lynx completed a major step of its exciting hypercar journey last week at Imola, as the brand-new Lamborghini SC63 race car made its testing debut in a successful two-day session. Coming from a positive shakedown earlier this month at Vallelunga, the team started a comprehensive development program ahead of the planned debut in the Hypercar class of the FIA World Endurance Championship and in the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2024.

Three Lamborghini Squadra Corse drivers were involved in the test. Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli, and Daniil Kvyat covered a total of 1500 kilometers over the course of the two days.
Lamborghini Iron Lynx worked in multiple directions including the calibration of the new V8 engine, the company's first internally-designed racing unit. The work also focused on setting up the Xtrac gearbox as the rules allow custom gearing for every manufacturer. In terms of electronics, the team worked on calibrating the speed limiter and traction control systems and collected aero and cooling data.
The testing programme will continue at a sustained pace in the coming weeks and months.

βIt's the first time that we're involved in such a big project starting from scratch. There are many people working together and the first task is to create the right atmosphere and build a team. Since we drove the car out of the pits in Vallelunga last week, the drivers reported a general positive feeling. We didn't have any major issue so far, step by step we're driving longer stints, learning the car and getting faster. Still a long way to go, a lot of debugging and development needed, but the first impression is definitely positive!β Source: Iron Lynx
