Both Toyota tops Thursday free practices
The opening Free Practice session for the 8 Hours of Bahrain was disrupted by a storm that caused an advertising banner to fall on the pit straight. Rain also fell causing a wet track. Lap times were improved during FP2 with Kamui Kobayashi in the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid being the only driver to break the 1m47s barrier with a best lap of 1:46.851, 0.461 seconds clear of Brendon Hartley at the wheel of the #8 GR010 Hybrid.
Cadillac Racing strong start
Alex Lynn with the hybrid Cadillac #2 recorded the third best lap of 1 minute, 47.690 seconds during the second free practice session.
“Good start for the team; we managed to get through most of our race prep. Also did some qualifying work, so we’re going into free practice 3 and qualifying prepared,” team manager Stephen Mitas said. “Still some work to finish off before the race, but it’s looking good.” Source: Cadillac Racing
