Win at Sepang for Romain Dumas team’s 1st race

Romain Dumas’ team RD Limited ends first race with a win at Sepang Race 1 after an amazing race from Tristan Vautier and Mathieu Vaxiviere who battled until the finish with agonising tires to cross checkered flag with 0.055 seconds gap.

RD Limited wins overall

Tristan Vautier (#30 RD Limited Oreca) delivered an exceptional finish taking back the lead in the last corner from Mathieu Vaxivière (#83 AF Corse Oreca) who did a great push taking the lead from Vautier two corners from the finish.

Fred Poordad (Bronze driver) did his part of the job (a bit helped by FCY) handing over his #30 Oreca in the lead lap to James Allen who went up the hierarchy from P10 to the lead. Tristan Vautier took over and resisted ultimately to Mathieu Vaxivière to share the winners trophy with his co-drivers and Romain Dumas on the podium.

Alessio Rovera with #82 AF Corse Oreca took over from François Perrodo in P2 taking the lead from #91 Pure ring but lost the lead to in lap 56 after 2,5 hours racing.

#91 Pure rXing lost the lead after Harry King could not enter his pit box being blocked by #16 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG. Louis Deletraz passed M. Jensen (#25 Algarve Pro racing) to clinch the last step of the podium.

“It looked like the Mercedes was carrying damage, we boxed at the same time, it didn’t make its box properly, so we got blocked in and tucked up behind with nowhere to go,” said TF Sport’s Tom Ferrier managing the #91 Oreca operations.

Ultimate wins LMP3.

S. Lemeret already won LMP3 class qualifying in #35 Ultimate JS P320 .

S. Lemeret, M. Quintarelli and B. Valint won LMP3 class in #35 Ultimate JS P320 operated by AF Corse, 2,593 seconds ahead of #49 High Class Racing’s Ligier.

Ferrari squads LMGT3 podium

LMGT3 class was dominated by the Ferrari 296 LMGT3 with one of the six Ferrari leading the whole race. At the end, #57 Car Guy Ferrari 296 GT3 driven Yudai Uchida, Esteban Masson and Daniel Serra won the race ahead of the #51 AF Corse Ferrari of Custodio Toledo, Cedric Sbirrazzouli and Riccardo Agostini second. D. Blatenr, B. Tuck and D. Marschall who led the first half of the race with #73 Kessel Racing Ferrari end third.

Ryan Harwick, R. Perera and Richard Lietz with Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3 R were the only ones to challenge the Ferrari’s for a podium seat.
