The Keating/Catsburg/Varrone trio won the first two WEC races of the season at the Sebring 1,000 Miles and Six Hours of Portimão and followed with a runner-up finish at the Spa Six Hours to take the championship lead. No discussion in GTE AM class where François Perrodo, Nicklas Nielsen and Alessio Rovera dominated the championship and the race. In GTE PRO class, Alessandro Pier Guidi took the win after taking Christensen out of track. Three days after, Ferrari was officially crowned 2021 FIA World Endurance GTE Manufacturer’s Champion and James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi have been named World Endurance GTE Driver’s Champions.
