With 3 P2 and one P1 for both BMW M4 GT3 (#32 overall and #30 in Silver Cup), Team WRT leaves the Hockenheimring leading the overall Fanatec GT Series (Team and Drivers’), the overall Sprint Cup series (Team and Drivers’) and the Silver class Sprint Cup standings (Team and Drivers’). Dan Harper and Darren Leung with #991 Century completed the BMW M4 GT3 triumph by winning twice in the Bronze Cup.

It was a race in 3 acts: Lappalainen in #14 Ferrari took over Dries Vanthoor (#32 BMW) at Turn 1 moving from fourth to third. After 15 minutes, Ricardo Feller (second with Audi #99) abandoned as his Tresor Attempto Audi suffered a suspected front-left suspension failure. Luca Engstler aboard the #6 Liqui-Moly Team Engstler by OneGroup Lamborghini was outpacing this pursuers until a Safety Car neutralisation bunched up the pack and an issue with the right front wheel during pitstop did cost Liqui-Moly Team the race lead.

After winning Race 1 Saturday, Lucas Auer and Maro Engel in #48 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 started from P10 making up 7 positions to end P3. They lose the lead of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered By AWS Sprint Cup Drivers they conquered during Race 1 to Vanthoor-Weerts.
