Mercedes tops both Friday Sessions at Nürburgring

Unlike the morning free session where 5 Mercedes-AMG GT3 were among the first 9, the afternoon pre-qualifying session delivered a nice mix of different manufacturers with 3 Mercedes-AMG GT3, 4 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO 2, 2 McLaren 720S GT3 EVO, 1 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II within one second.

Still it was a Mercedes that topped both sessions with #88 Akkodis ASP Team during the morning free session and Mercedes-AMG Team AlManar #777 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO in the pre-qualification session.

Also lap times were improved in the afternoon as Timur Boguslavskiy (Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO #88 - Akkodis-ASP) did set the fastest lap in 1:55.163 during the morning session, for 1:54.173 by Fabian Schiller, driving the Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO #777 - Mercedes-AMG Team Al Manar, who did set the benchmark during the pre qualifying session in the afternoon.

The #19 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 shared by Leonardo Pulcini, Michele Beretta, Rolf Ineichen renewed the P2 of the morning session, 0.315 seconds slower and first Gold Cup entry.

Nikolai Kjaergaard, Marvin Kirchhöfer, Benjamin Goethe with #159 Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3 EVO are third 0"348 slower than the benchmark.

The #88 Akkodis ASP Team Mercedes driven by Raffaele Marciello, Jules Gounon, Timur Boguslavskiy are fourth after having dominated the morning session.

Two Lamborghini and two McLaren in the top 6.

Fifth, the Lamborghini #85 - GRT of Glenn van Berlo, Benjamin Hites, Clemens Schmid who set the fastest lap in the Silver Cup. Sixth and second in Gold Cup, Charlie Fagg, Sam de Hana, Dean McDonald with #5 Optimum Motorsport McLaren 720 GT3 EVO 2.

One Audi and one Ferrari in the top 10.

Two Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO 2 follow the ranking with #58 GRT Grasset Racing Team driven by Gerhard Tweraser, Sam Neary and Fabrizio Crestani. Like this morning, the #78 Barwell Motorsport of the duo Dennis Lind, Rob Collard dominates in Pro-Am and are eighth overall.

#99 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II with Lorenzo Patrese, Pietro Delli Guanti and Alex Aka is ninth.

Davide Rigon, Daniel Serra and Antonio Fuoco with #71 AF Corse Francorchamps Motors Ferrari 296 GT3 are tenth 0.975 second slower than the benchmark of the session.

The first BMW M4 GT3 is 24th overall

The Team WRT #46 of Valentino Rossi, Augusto Farfus, Maxime Martin was the fastest of the BMW still 1.282 seconds slower than the fastest lap set by #777 Mercedes.
