Nürburgring NLS4: Walkenhorst among 9 SP9 entries

NLS

The Nürburgring NLS4 (Nürburgring Endurance Series race 4) SP9 (GT3) entry list features only 9 cars. Among them, 4 are in the top 20 of the NLS Speed Trophy 2023 current standing after the 3 first races (see Table 1 below for current standing). A chance for them to move up in the yearly ranking led by #44 BMW Junior Team who"‘ll not be present.

With a victory at NLS 2 and a P1 during NLS 1 qualifying, Jesse Krohn and Jakub Giermaziak in the #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 are currently 6th in the 2023 NLS Speed Trophy championship, 44 points behind the leading BMW Junior Team. A victory at NLS 4 would reduce the gap to 9 points and they would become 2nd of the trophy after NLS 4.

Three BMW M4 would then be on top of the Speed Trophy championship with #44 BMW Junior Team, #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport and #99 Team Rowe.

📷 © Luc Warnotte. For 24 hours of Nürburgring, Kolb and Stippler were assisted by IMSA championship drivers Alexander Sims and Reiner van der Zande with the #5 Scherer Sport PHX Audi R8 LMS Evo II.

The #5 Scherer Sport PHX Audi R8 LMS Evo II will be driven by the usual NLS tandem Vincent Kolb and Frank Stippler. The team is currently 14th in the Speed Trophy championship thanks to a P6 during NLS3 and two podiums in qualifying (P2 at NLS1 and P3 at NLS3).

Walkenhorst Motorsport will have a second PRO entry at NLS 4. #35 BMW M4 GT3 will be driven by Thomas Neubauer, Niklas Krütten and Dylan Pereira.

Colin Caserani and Marcel Marchwicz will share the Schitzelalm Racing Mercedes AMG GT3 #2 this weekend.

Octane 125 Ferrari 296 GT3 #26 is the 5th PRO entry for NLS 4.

SP9 PRO-AM

Maxime Dumarey will be co-driven by Mike David Ortmann for NLS4 with #17 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 from PROsport-Racing. The team is currently 17th in the Speed Trophy championship.

#25 Huber Motorsport will be the only Porsche 911 GT3 R entry for NLS 4. Dennis Feltzer, Klaus Rader and Hans Wehrmann are the drivers.

American drivers Charles Espenlaub and Shane Lewis Shane with #45 CP Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be co-driven by Charles Putman for NLS 4.

SP9 AM

Michael Heinrich, Lorenzo Rocco and Arno Klasen will drive the #50 Équipe Vitesse Audi LMS GT3 EVO II as single SP9 AM entry.
