For the 8 races so far, 7 different teams have won the victory points: #10 at Daytona (even though #60 won), #31 at Sebring, #6 at Long Beach and Indianapolis, #01 at Monterey, #25 at The Glen, #60 at Canadian Tire and #7 at Road America.
Teams and Drivers GTP Championship
Since Jaminet and Tandy with Porsche 963 #6 won the Battle of the Bricks, sister car #7 ended second, and Cadillac #31 ended ahead of #10 Acura, the standing for the IMSA GTP championship has changed with Pipo Derani and Alexander Sims in #31 Cadillac now leading three points ahead of #10 Acura of Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque.
Jaminet and Tandy have moved from fourth to third, five points off the lead in the #6 Porsche 963.
Considering 385 points are awarded to the team earning pole and victory in a race, three other cars also are eligible for the GTP championship:
#25 BMW M Team RLL BMW M Hybrid V8 co-driven by Connor De Phillippi and Nick Yelloly are 38 points behind the leaders
#7 Porsche Penske Motorsport Porsche 963 co-driven by Felipe Nasr and Matt Campbell are 73 points behind and
#60 Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian Acura ARX-06 shared by Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun are 127 points back.
GTP Manufacturers Championship
In the Manufacturers Championship, Porsche has taken the lead from Cadillac who is now second, 8 points behind. Acura is third, 61 points behind and BMW fourth, 64 points behind.
The three championships (Team, Drivers and Manufacturers) will be crowned at the end of the 10 Hours of Motul Petit Le Mans!
