Hypercar @ 24 Hours of Le mans 2021: qualifications
Results of the qualification session today will not determine the order on the grid Saturday. All 5 cars will participate at tomorrow’s hyperpole which will define the pole and following cars on the grid.
Mike Conway, Jose Maria Lopez and Kamui Kobayashi recorded the quickest lap of the qualifications in the #7 Toyota.
#36 Alpine A480 Gibson of Nico Lapierre, Negrao, Vaxivière ended 2nd with 0,8 second from #7 Toyota’s best time.
Buemi, Nakajima, Hartley in the #8 Toyota achieved the third best performance of the day.
Derani, Mailleux, Pla in the #708 Glickenhaus edged end 4th at Le Mans qualifications.
Glickenhaus #709 with Dumas, Briscoe and Westbrook ended 7th overall behind 2 LMP2 and 3.1” slower than Toyota #7.
Again, this is not very indicative as the 5 cars were participating in the hyperpole tomorrow anyway.
