ELMS @ 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps 2021: FP2 and Qualifications
LMP2
24 Hours of Le Mans class winner Charles Milesi started his new contract for Cool Racing (for the last two rounds of the European Le Mans Series) in the best way by being the fastest at Spa today during the qualification session. The trio Milesi, Lapierre and Coigny will be in pole tomorrow with their Cool Racing Oreca 07 #37.
The two United Autosports did not copy their P1 and P2 during FP2 as Nico Jamin with #32 crashed his car in Raidillon. Phil Hanson set the second best time enabling car #22 with Johnathan Aberdein and Tom Gamble to start in the front row.
Louis Deletraz was third for ELMS points leader Team WRT #41 after achieving P4 during FP2.
Patrick Pilet got his IDEC Sports #28 in P4 enabling the team to start in second row with teammates P. Lafargue and P. Chatin.
Duqueine Team #30’s qualifying driver R. Binder got P5 in the session. Far better than the P9 during FP2.
Despite gaining 3 poles this season, G-Drive Racing #26 team Nick De Vries, R. Rusinov and F. Colapinto could not do better than P7 after achieving P8 during FP2.
LMP3
In LMP3, the only Duqueine-Nissan dominated all the session and Laurents Hörr ended with a pole position of the class with #4 DKR Engineering. Ugo de Wilde placed his #13 Inter Europol Competition Ligier JS P320 Nissan in P2 despite his achieving P21 during FP2.
LM GTE
The two factory drivers battling in LMGTE got the front row of the class. Porsche Works’ Richard Lietz got P1 with Proton Porsche Porsche RSR 911 #93. Ferrari factory driver Miguel Molina (#80 iron Lynx Ferrari 488 GTE Evo) set LM GTE second time in front of A. Rovera with AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo #88.
