ELMS: Top three per class ahead of 4 Hours of Spa

Fourth round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) championship at Spa-Francorchamps with Inter Europol Competition, Richard Mille by TDS, Eurointernational and Iron Lynx leading respectively each of the 4 class.

Inter Europol Competition leads LMP2

The highly competitive LMP2 class count three different winners and three different pole sitters. Only six points separate the top three:

  • The winners of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet, Sebastien Alvarez, Vlad Lomko, and Tom Dillmann championship leaders with 45 points in the #43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca-Gibson;

  • The winners and pole sitters of the 4 Hours of Imola crew of Manuel Maldonado, Charles Milesi and Arthur Leclerc with #65 Panis Racing Oreca are second on 40 points;

  • With two podiums, the #14 AO by TF crew of Jonny Edgar, Louis Delétraz and Robert Kubica, are third one point behind the #65 Panis Racing trio.

Four Hours of Le Castellet pole sitter #28 IDEC Sport (35 pts), defending champions #25 Algarve Pro Racing (28 pts), and the #22 United Autosports (26 pts) follow.

Both COOL Racing Orecas who won the 4 Hours of Barcelona with #37 COOL Racing Oreca (25 pts) and clinched pole with #47 COOL Racing Oreca (19 pts) are respectively 7th and 8th.

Richard Mille by TDS leads LMP2 Pro/Am

The LMP2 Pro/Am class also count three different winners:

  • Le Castellet winning #29 Richard Mille by TDS Oreca-Gibson trio of Grégoire Saucy, Mathias Beche and Rodrigo Sales lead the category on 58 points,

  • Barcelona class winning #83 AF Corse with reigning champions Alessio Rovera, François Perrodo and Matthieu Vaxiviere are just 3 points behind the leaders.

  • Imola class winning #20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca with Kriton Lentoudis, Richard Bradley and Alex Quinn are third on 45 points.

The Pro/Am count one regular pole sitter with Former ELMS Champion Giorgio Roda in his #77 Proton Competition who managed three poles in a row so far. Together with Bent Viscaal and Rene Binder, they are fourth in class on 35 points.

Two regular GTP works drivers will participate to the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps: 2020 ELMS Champion Filipe Albuquerque (Acura works driver) will stand in for Oliver Jarvis in the #21 United Autosports Oreca, racing alongside Daniel Schneider and Andy Meyrick. BMW works driver Nick Yelloly will be joining John Falb and Colin Noble in the #24 Nielsen Racing.

Eurointernational leads LMP3

The 10-car LMP3 grid also count three different winners so far who are leading the class. The top 3 championship contenders are split by just 3 points:

  • 4 Hours of Imola winning #11 Eurointernational with 52 points,

  • 4 Hours of Le Castellet winning #15 RLR MSport on 50 points,

  • 4 Hours of Barcelona winning #8 Team Virage on 49 points

Three different teams clinched pole so far with #4 DKR Engineering at Imola in fourth overall on 37 points, reigning LMP3 Champions #17 COOL Racing at Barcelona in fifth overall on 33 Points and #15 RLR MSport at Le Castellet.

Iron Lynx leads LMGT3

The LMP3 also count three different winners so far and Sarah Bovy as sole pole winner with her Iron Dames Porsche #835

  • The class is actually led by three times podium sitter #63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan driven by Hiroshi Hamaguchi, Axcil Jefferies and Andrea Caldarelli who lead the LMGT3 champions on 48 points.

  • With two podiums in the last two races, the #59 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin Vantage of Valentin Hasse Clot, Derek Deboer, and Casper Stevenson is second with 41 Points.

  • Monza winning #85 Iron Dames Porsche with regular pole sitting Sarah Bovy, Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting are fourth on 40 points.

4 Hours of Le Castellet winners David Perel, Duncan Cameron and Matt Griffin with #55 Spirit of Race Ferrari 296 are fourth in the standings with 39 points.

The #86 GR Racing Ferrari is in fifth overall with Riccardo Pera, Davide Rigon, and Michael Wainwright on 34 points, five ahead of the 4 Hours of Barcelona winners Johnny Laursen, Conrad Laursen and Nicklas Nielsen in #50 Formula Racing Ferrari 296.

Schedule

The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps is Round 4 of the 2024 European Le Mans Series, with Free Practice on Friday 23 August, Qualifying on Saturday 24 August and the race on Sunday 25 August.
