LMGT3 carnage, championship leader victory in LMP3

Only 6 of the 11 LMGT3 finished the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps after a race full of twists and turns; championship leader increase gap with contenders in LMP3 thanks to Spa victory.

Hamaguchi in the #63 Lamborghini, #85 Iron Dames Porsche of Sarah Bovy, Matt Griffin in the #55 Spirit of Race Ferrari and Johnny Laursen in the #50 Ferrari played the game so hard fighting for the lead in LMGT3 that they all had to retire after colliding or ending in the rail. All four had retired after 25 laps, a little bit more than one hour of racing!

Takeshi Kimura in the #57 Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 LMGT3 took the lead just after mid-race (lap 47 on a total of 87 covered), handing over the car to Esteban Masson and Daniel Serra who ended a lap ahead of the rest of the class field.

Michael Wainwright, Riccardo Pera and Davide Rigon in #86 GR Racing Ferrari finished second and Nicolas Varrone, Charles-Henri Samani and Manu Collard with #51 AF Corse Ferrari third.

Derek Deboer, Valentin Hasse-Clot and Casper Stevenson who lead 21 laps during the second hour with #59 Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin Vantage GT3 end fourth.

#11 Eurointernational wins LMP3

LMP3 Teams and Drivers leaders Matt Bell and Adam Ali with #11 Eurointernational Ligier claimed their second LMP3 win in a row despite a trip into the gravel trap at Les Combes for Bell early in the race.

They took the chequered flag 14 seconds ahead of Antoine Doquin, Jacques Wolff and Jean-Ludovic Foubert in the #31 Racing Spirit of Leman Ligier. Miguel Cristovão, Cédric Oltramare and Manuel Espirito Santo with #17 COOL Racing Ligier end third.
