COOL Racing Wins - AO by TF Champion at Portimao

The 4 Hours of Portimao was full of twists and turns from the start to the chequered flag with lots of suspense for the awarding of 2024 titles until the end and two titles decided in the last lap.

COOL Racing win

Great day for COOL Racing winning both races today. After clinching the the Michelin Le Mans Cup around lunch time, COOL Racing wins the 4 Hours of Portimao with #37 Oreca driven by Lorenzo Fluxa, Malthe Jakobsen and Ritomo Miyata and the LMP3 class with #17 Ligier driven by Miguel Cristovao and Manuel Espírito Santo.

Jonny Edgar, Robert Kubica and Louis Deletraz are ELMS LMP2 champions

The #14 AO by TF Oreca of Jonny Edgar, Robert Kubica and Louis Deletraz ends second marking 18 points in the championship while their main contender, the #43 Inter Europol Competition ended fourth (12 points). Jonny Edgar, Robert Kubica and Louis Deletraz are 2024 European Le Mans Champions. It is the third time in the last four editions that Louis Deletraz and Robert Kubica earn the ELMS title.

AO by TF wins the Teams Championship with 93 points, 12 points ahead Inter Europol Competition. Both teams earn an invitation to the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans.

AF Corse and Iron Lynx Champions in last lap change

Amazing race with lots of class leaders due to different strategies and two titles won in the last lap:

#83 AF Corse wins LMP2 Pro-Am titles

The four LMP2 Pro-Am contenders – AF Corse, Richard Mille by TDS, Algarve Pro Racing and Proton Competition – battled during the four hours race.

The #20 Algarve Pro Racing did bet having enough fuel until the end of the race to keep the lead and secure the championship title but Bent Viscaal in the #77 Proton Competition Oreca caught and passed Alex Quinn in the #20 Oreca to take the win by just 0.995 seconds. Thanks to Proton Competition victory, Francois Perrodo, Alessio Rovera and Matthieu Vaxiviere with #83 AF Corse claimed the championships by finishing fourth in class which was enough to win the LMP2 Pro-Am team and driver Championships as well as an invitation to the next 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Iron Lynx Lamborghini wins LMGT3 class and championship

#63 Iron Links Lamborghini with Hiroshi Hamaguchi, Axcil Jefferies and Andrea Caldarelli win LMGT3 Team and drivers championships.

The #63 Iron Links Lamborghini with Hiroshi Hamaguchi, Axcil Jefferies and Andrea Caldarelli wins LMGT3 class with Caldarelli taking over the then leading Iron Dames in the last corner thereby winning LMGT3 Team and drivers championships together with an invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Michael Jensen, Nick Adcock and Gaël Julien with RLR MSPort, LMP3 champions

Adam Ali with #11 Eurointernational was holding firm on P2 until 8 laps from the end as well as the champiponship titles. In the meantime, Gaël Julien with #15 RLR MSport Ligier did jump from P4 to P3 two laps ahead before taking over Ali with 7 laps to go! With #17 COOL Racing Ligier winning ahead of the #15 RLR MSPort Ligier and #11 Eurointernational securing the final podium place, Michael Jensen, Nick Adcock and Gaël Julien with RLR MSPort clinched the 2024 LMP3 European titles.
