Top three per class ahead of 4 Hours of Portimao

Last round of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) championship at Portimao with AO by TF, AF Corse, Eurointernational and Kessel Racing leading respectively each of the 4 class.

Inter Europol Competition leads LMP2

The highly competitive LMP2 class count five different winners as well as five different pole sitters. Fifteen points separate the top three who are still in contention for the title.

  • With two podiums and a win at Spa-Francorchamps, the #14 AO by TF crew of Jonny Edgar, Louis Delétraz and Robert Kubica, lead the LMP2 class with 75 points;

  • The winners of the 4 Hours of Le Castellet, Sebastien Alvarez, Vlad Lomko, and Tom Dillmann follow with 69 points in the #43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca-Gibson;

  • The winners and pole sitters of the 4 Hours of Imola crew of Manuel Maldonado, Charles Milesi and Arthur Leclerc with #65 Panis Racing Oreca are third with 60 points.

AF Corse leads LMP2 Pro/Am

The LMP2 Pro/Am class also count three different winners:

  • Barcelona class winning #83 AF Corse with reigning champions Alessio Rovera, François Perrodo and Matthieu Vaxiviere lead with 86 points;

  • Le Castellet winning #29 Richard Mille by TDS Oreca-Gibson trio of Grégoire Saucy, Mathias Beche and Rodrigo Sales are just 2 points behind the leaders;

  • Imola class winning #20 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca with Kriton Lentoudis, Richard Bradley and Alex Quinn are third on 78 points.

The Pro/Am count one regular pole sitter with Former ELMS Champion Giorgio Roda in his #77 Proton Competition who managed four poles in a row so far. Together with Bent Viscaal and Rene Binder, they are fourth in class on 69 points.

Two regular GTP works drivers will participate to the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps: 2020 ELMS Champion Filipe Albuquerque (Acura works driver) will stand in for Oliver Jarvis in the #21 United Autosports Oreca, racing alongside Daniel Schneider and Andy Meyrick. BMW works driver Nick Yelloly will be joining John Falb and Colin Noble in the #24 Nielsen Racing.

Eurointernational leads LMP3

Only 2 points separate the top 3 LMP3 championship still in contention for the crown:

  • 4 Hours of Imola and 4 hours of Spa-Francorchamps winning #11 Eurointernational with 83 points;

  • 4 Hours of Barcelona and 4 hours of Mugello winning #8 Team Virage on 82 points;

  • 4 Hours of Le Castellet winning #15 RLR MSport on 81 points.

Kessel Racing leads LMGT3

The LMGT3 class still count eight teams (out of 11) mathematically in contention for the class title. #57 Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 team with Takeshita Kimura, Esteban Masson and Daniel Serra did win the two last races (in class) at Spa-Francorchamps and Mugello enabling them to take the class lead together with #59 Racing Spirit of Le Mans Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo team (Valentin Hasse Clot, Derek Deboer, and Casper Stevenson) with 64 points.

The #86 GR Racing Ferrari is in fourth overall with Riccardo Pera, Davide Rigon, and Michael Wainwright on 56 points, five ahead of #63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan driven by Hiroshi Hamaguchi, Axcil Jefferies and Andrea Caldarelli.

Schedule

The 4 Hours of Portimao Free Practice 1 and Bronze drivers test on Thursday 17 October, Qualifying on Friday 18 October and the race on Saturday 19 October.
