Drama at “La Source”
The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps saw eight interruptions: five Safety Cars and three Full Course Yellow. It all started at La Source, just after the start. Every fan did see the drama video. Hereafter another perspective.
Maldonado’s strike at the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps
Early ahead of “La Source” (T1), Manuel Maldonado locked up his #65 Panis Racing ORECA and went straight on, hitting Marino Sato in the #22 United ORECA into a spin and crashing into the side of the #28 IDEC ORECA of Paul Lafargue, which cannoned into the #30 Duqueine ORECA of Rene Binder.
The four damaged cars could eventually restart way behind the pack but the irony is that #65 Panis Racing ORECA ends P2 in class ahead of #28 IDEC ORECA (P4), #22 United ORECA (P5) and #30 Duqueine ORECA (P6).
