Alessio Picariello, Zacharie Robichon and Ryan Hardwick with the Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR-19 won the last GTE race and GTE drivers and teams’ titles in ELMS

An initial battle between #16 Porsche and #55 Ferrari.

Pole sitter Ryan Hardwick took leadership in an authoritarian as soon as the car were released after all cars participating to the 4 Hours of Portimao had been waiting for 45 minutes red flag period in a single file in front of the pits. Duncan Cameron with #55 Spirit of Race Ferrari overtook Hardwick around the outside at Turn 1 of lap 25.

After the initial pit stops, Zacharie Robichon took over behind #55 Spirit of Racing Ferrari 488 GTE EVO and managed to keep his #16 Porsche around five seconds behind Matt Griffin with #55 Ferrari..

For the last stint, Picariello on board of the #16 Porsche 911 RSR-19 started in P1 and was able to held off Ulysse de Pauw in the #51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo

Alessio Picariello, Zacharie Robichon and Ryan Hardwick with the Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR-19 eventually won the race. As they were already 4 points leaders heading into Sunday’s race, their second win of the year assures Picariello, Robichon and Hardwick the last LMGTE Drivers’ title and Proton Competition the last LMGTE Teams’ title of the European Le Mans Series Championship.

First podium for #51 AF Corse Ferrari.

During the final round of pit stops, #55 Spirit of Race dropped to sixth and Ulysse de Pauw in the #51 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo emerged in P2. Which he managed to keep util checkered flag. It is the first podium for the red-white-blue livery Ferrari #51 o this 2023 last LMGTE ELMS championship.

Third podium for #77 Podium

After winning at Le Castellet and Friday the 4 Hours of Algarve, #77 Proton lineup clinched its third podium of the season with a P3.

With their three podiums, Christian Ried, Julien Andlauer and Giammarco Levorato take the second place in the LMGTE Drivers’ title and Proton Competition the top two seats of the LMGTE Teams’ championship podium.

Claudio Schiavoni, Matteo Cairoli and Matteo Cressoni who were co-leading the championships before arriving at Portimao fell down in P3 of both drivers and teams championships with the #60 Iron Lynx Porsche prepared by Proton Competition.
