ELMS - 4 Hours of Barcelona: Race results

Third win in a row with three different teams at the ELMS 4 Hours of Barcelona for Louis Deletraz who won with Team WRT in 2021, Prema Racing last year and Racing Team Turkey today.

LMP2 and LMP2 Pro/Am

Vladislav Lomko, with the pole sitting #47 Cool Racing Oreca, took the lead of the 4 Hours of Barcelona during 18 laps thanks to the chao (involving 5 cars) in T3 generating a safety car during the initial 20’.

When the cars were released, Kyffin Simpson in the #25 Algarve Pro Racing Oreca took the lead. Together with James Allen who took over the wheel of the #25, they led during the next 50 laps until James Allen was hit by the #28 IDEC Sport Oreca of Laurents Hörr, spun round, put the rear wheels into the gravel and was unable to get back on track unaided.

Halfway through the race, the #30 Duqueine Team Oreca of Nico Pino was 23.910 sec. ahead of two Pro/Am: the AF Corse #83 was second and C. Eastwood (#34 Racing Team Turkey) in third after taking over the wheel from S. Yoluc making up 4 places from 7th to 3rd just a little second behind the #83..

At the third hour, the Racing Team Turkey #34 was in the lead 8.749 sec. ahead of #30  Duqueine Team Oreca and 30.879 sec. ahead of #47 Cool Racing Oreca.

The last half hour was very thrilling as the then leader, Louis Deletraz (#34 Racing Team Turkey), had to come in to repair the rear of the car that had been damaged following a collision with a United Autosports Oreca. The TF Sport team did replace the rear of the car in less than 10 seconds, enabling Deletraz to get back on track five second behind Jani (#30 Duqueine Team) with 25 minutes of racing left to run.
