WEC Season 10: Prologue Day 2

Sunday morning session

Conditions for Sunday morning’s Prologue session were colder (16 to 20Β°c) compared to the two sessions held yesterday (above 25Β°c), although it remained sunny.

As for day 1 morning session, both WRT cars dominated the LMP2 class as well as the Hypercars. Ferdinand Habsburg was the fastest overall with #41 Realteam by WRT Oreca 07 Gibson and stablemate Rene Rast was second fastest with #31 WRT Oreca 07 Gibson. Habsburg did set the fastest time of the weekend and was the only one to lap at an average above 200 Kph.

Nicolas Lapierre with the #36 Alpine A480 - Gibson slotted in third overall and was the fastest Hypercar.

Will Owen with LMP2 #22 United Autosports Oreca 07 Gibson took fourth overall.

Dane Cameron with #5 Team Penske Oreca 07 Gibson did set the fifth fastest time of the session.

Note that #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid was second of the Hypercars behind 7 LMP2 just 0,058” faster than Olivier Pla who was the only Glickenhaus driver to take the wheel during the session.

Both #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 drivers dominated the LMGTE class with Michael Christensen setting the fastest lap in front of team mate Kevin Estre. A bit more than 1” separate the two drivers whose Porsche halted on track with a driveshaft issue.

Sunday afternoon session

It was again a LMP2 entry that dominated the session with Felipe Albuquerque setting the best performance with #22 United Autosports Oreca 07 during the final session of the FIA WEC Prologue two-day test at Sebring International Raceway.

AndrΓ© Negrao with the #36 Alpine A480 was the fastest among Hypercars and second overall.

#31 WRT was also on the forefront with Rubin Frijns setting the third best lap of the afternoon.

Louis Deletraz with #9 Prema Orlen Team Oreca 07 was fourth, 0,515” behind Albuquerque.

Sister United Autosport #23 driven by Paul Di Resta completed the top 5 of the afternoon session at Sebring International Raceway.

Contrary to the 3 first sessions, Porsche did not dominate this last session as Nick Tandy was the fastest LMGTE driver with #64 Corvette Racing C6.R, 0,031” ahead of Gianmaria Bruni with #91 Porsche RSR-19.
