WEC 2022 Season 10: Prologue Day 1
Morning Session
Day one morning session was stopped at the end of the second hour as a burst of intense rainfall triggered a red flag and the end of the session.

In this shortened session (2/3), Jose Maria Lopez did set the fastest time in the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid.

WEC LMP2 and ELMS Team’s Champion WRT cars were the fastest LMP2 with a second overall best performance for #41 Realteam by WRT Oreca 07 Gibson driven by Ferdinand Habsburg. Robin Frijns in the sister car #31 WRT Oreca was fourth overall.

Nicolas Lapierre put the Alpine A480 Gibson in third between the two WRT LMP2.

European Le Mans Series champion Robert Kubica completed the overall top-five with #9 Premature Orlen Team Oreca 07 Gibson.

Porsche dominated the GTE-Pro category as Michael Christensen (Porsche 911 RSR-19 #92) lead the session ahead of Richard Lietz in the sister #91 Porsche 911 RSR-19. Nick Tandy completed the top three with his #64 Corvette Racing.

A Porsche 911 RSR-19 also led GTE-Am class with Matteo Cairoli setting the fastest lap in the #46 Team Project 1 car.

The dry afternoon session saw the track cleaning up and times were coming steadily down throughout the session which was dominated by Robert Kubica with his #9 Prema Orlen Team Oreca 07 Gibson.

Matthieu Vaxivière with Alpine A480 was second, 0,126” behind Kubica.

Charles Milesi did set third best performance with #1 Richard Mille Racing Team Oreca 07-Gibson.

Kicklas Nielsen was fourth overall setting his #83 AF Corse Oreca 07-Gibson in P1 for LMP2 P/A class.

Despite limited running, Romain Dumas put his #708 Glickenhaus 007 LMH in P5 finishing the session ahead of both Toyotas – which finished the session 7th and 10th.
