Both Michelin and Weathertech titles are at play at the 25th Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on Oct. 1

Everything is still open in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup DPi Drivers and Teams before the last of the four longer races that are part of the Cup as the five first teams or drivers are within six points.
Filipe Albuqueqrque and Ricky Taylor with #10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-05 are just one point behind #60 Meyer Shank Racing W/Curb-Agajan’s Oliver Jarvis and Tom Blomqvist.

Loïc Duval, Tristan Vautier and Richard Westbrook with #5 JDC Miller MotorSports Cadillac are third one point further. Mike Conway and Pipo Derani with #31 Whelen Engineering Racing Cadillac are fourth with a deficit of four points. Bourdais-van der Zande on #01 Chip Ganassi Cadillac are fifth two points further and Bamber-Lynn on #02 sister are another two points behind their teammates.
15 points will be allocated during the Motul Petit Le Mans race: 5 points for the leader after 4, 8 hours and the finish. So, winning the race is not enough! One has to be on top after 4 and 8 hours also.
Weathertech Sportscar Championships.
Motul Petit Le Mans will also be decisive for the drivers and team Weathertech Sportscar Championship as four teams are mathematically still running for the titles.
Filipe Albuquerque and Ricky Taylor with #10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-05 are leading with 19 points (5 wins)
#60 Meyer Shank Racing W/Curb-Agajan’s Oliver Jarvis and Tom Blomqvist (1 win).
350 points are allocated for the win of the race and 35 for pole qualification.

In case both Acura do not start the race, both Chip Ganassi Racing teams are still in contention for the title with 152 points behind the leaders for the pair Bourdais-van der Zande on #01 (2 wins) and 167 points for Bamber-Lynn on #02 (1 win).
Reasonably, it is between the two Acura’s that the championship will be clinched.
