WEC 2022: Season 10 LMP2 entry list
Five new teams are entering the World Endurance Championship LMP2 class for this 10th season: Team Penske, Prema Orlen Team, Vector Sport, Ultimate as well as AF Corse who is moving from LMGTE AM class at Sebring, with the official prologue Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 March and the FIA WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring on Friday 18 March.
The newcomers:
USA Team Penske will compete in LMP2 with the ORECA-Gibson 07 #5 driven by Emmanuel Collard and Porsche factory drivers Felipe Nasr and Dane Cameron. The aim is to prepare for its collaboration with Porsche in Hypercar it will run with in both the WEC and the IMSA SportsCar Championship from 2023.
Italian Prema Orlen Team #9 entry will be driven by 2021 ELMS LMP2 champions Robert Kubica and Louis Deletraz associated with FIA Formula 3 Championship race winner Lorenzo Colombo.
The new Vector team will run #10 Oreca. Nico Muller, Sebastien Bourdais and Ryan Cullen will be the drivers.
Ultimate #35 Oreca will be driven by Jean-Baptiste Lahaye, Mathieu Lahaye and François Heriau and will be part of the LMP2 Pro/Am class as well as AF Corse Oreca #83 who is moving from LMGTE Am to LMP2 Pro/am with François Perrodo, Nicklas Nielsen and Alessio Rovera.
The three 2021 season Animators enter 2 cars each:
The British Jota squad will run two ORECAs. #28 will be driven by a new squad: Aliver Rasmussen, Edward Jones and Jonathan Aberdein.
#38 by last year’s duo Antonio Felix da Costa and Roberto Gonzalez. Will Stevens will replace the retired Anthony Davidson.
Belgian WRT enter with #31 Oreca which will be driven by René Rast, who is also leading the development of Audi’s LMDh challenger for 2023. He will share WRT’s #31 Oreca 07-Gibson with reigning WEC LMP2 champion Robin Frijns and Sean Gelael, who move from the JOTA team.
Ferdinand Habsburg-Lothringen, who won last year’s WEC LMP2 title with Frijns and Charles Milesi, will switch to Real Team by WRT’s new #41 entry associated with Norman Nato and Rui Andrade.
United Autosport also runs two cars with #22 driven by Philip Hanson, Filipe Albuquerque and William Owen who is replacing Fabio Scherer, whereas #23 will be driven by Paul di Resta, Oliver Jarvis and Joshua Pierson, the youngest-ever WEC competitor (16 years old).

More changes in previous year single squads
Former female-driven #1 Richard Mille Racing ORECA entry has a new trio with Lilou Wadoux, who finished third in the European Alpine one-make series, Eight-time World Rally Champion and 54 WRC events winner Sébastien Ogier and last year WEC LMP2 champion Charles Milesi, who transferred from WRT.
WRT will enter a third ORECA 07 LMP2 car at Le Mans, that will be driven by Mirko Bortolotti, Dries Vanthoor and Rolf Ineichen
The former F1 Sauber and Haas driver Esteban Gutierrez will race with Inter Europol Competition #34 Oreca together with Jakub Smiechowski and Alex Brundle.
Arc Bratislava #44 is the third LMP2 Pro/am entry with Miroslav Konopka, Mathias Beche and Tijmen van der Helm.
