With Glickenhaus' withdrawal from Fuji, Toyota and Alpine are neck and neck for the constructors' championship, as are Lapierre-Negrao-Vaxiviere (106 pts) and Buemi-Hartley-Hirakawa (96 pts) for the drivers’ championship. With 76 pts, Conway-Kobayashi-Lopez have almost no chance to clinch the championship.

Considering Alpine A480 Gibson has been given a power reduction in the Balance of Performance, both Toyota’s should make a one-two. The best scenario for Buemi, Hartley, Hirakawa would be for them to win the race and the Alpine drivers to be third. Both teams would then be at equal points in the drivers' championship before heading to Barhain.

LMGTE PRO Championships Standing.

In GTE, Porsche leads with 14 points ahead of Ferrari. 7 points are the difference between P1 and P2 at Fuji, 11 points in Bahrain. Ferrari needs two wins to clinch the manufacturers' title and the second car doing better than the second Porsche.

The drivers’ championship is very open as there are only two points between Calado-Pier Guidi (95 pts), Bruni (94) pts and Christensen-Estre (93 pts).

The LMP2 Endurance Trophies for Teams and Drivers see JOTA #38 with Antonio Felix Da Costa, Roberto Gonzales and William Stevens (95 Pts) comfortably leading United Autosports #23 with Joshua Pierson and Oliver Jarvis (76 pts). The 6 Hours of Fuji will be a last opportunity for Real Team by WRT with Ferdinand Habsburg, Norman Nato and Rui Andrade as well as Prema Orlen Team with Louis deletraz, Robert Kubica and Lorezo Colombo to come back in the ranking as both teams are third with 68 pts.
