BMW M Team WRT again at Spa Test day 1

After dominating both Sprint Cup races at Misano Saturday, BMW M Team WRT dominated this morning session at Spa-Francorchamps. The second round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup and the Intercontinental GT Challenge rehearsal occurs these two days at Spa-Francorchamps with the Test Days, one month ahead of the centenary edition of the Spa 24 Hours.

The #32 BMW M GT3 morning Benchmark was not improved during the afternoon session as the track was wet fo a long period. When the track started to dry, #88 Audi and #163 Lamborghini improved their fastest lap to be integrated in the top 10 of the day. The combined sessions results are as follow

BMW M Team WRT BMW M GT3 #32 sets day Benchmark

The BMW M Team WRT BMW M GT3 #32 driven by Sheldon van der Linde, Charles Weerts et Dries Vanthoor did set the fastest lap this morning in 2'18"091.

Audi R8 ##99 second

The Audi R8 LMS GT3 #99 - Tresor Attempto Racing of Ricardo Feller - Alex Aka - Christopher Haase was second for 0.114 sec.

A McLaren #159 third

Tom Gamble - Dean MacDonald - Benjamin Goethe were third with the McLaren 720S GT3 EVO #159 - Garage 59, 0.206 sec. slower than the Benchmark. The trio also did set the fastest lap of the afternoon session, still not improving their morning fastest lap.

Mercedes-AMG #2 fourth

Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO #2 - Mercedes-AMG Team Getspeed driven by Jules Gounon, Fabian Schiller and Luca Stolz was fourth of the session, a further 0.278 sec from P3.

Audi #66 tops Bronze Cup.

The Audi #66 - Tresor Attempto Racing driven by Max Hofer, Dylan Pereira and Andrey Mukovoz was the fastest of Bronze Cup and did set the 5th fastest lap of the day during the morning session..

#998 BMW M GT3 sixth

The duo Farfus - Harper with #998 BMW M GT3 was 6th best of the day with a fastest lap in 2:18.832 set during the morning session. They close the cars with a fastest lap under the 2:19" mark of the day.

A third Tresor Attempto Racing Audi in the top seven of the day

The #88 Tresor Attempto Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 with Lorenzo Ferrari, Leonardo Moncini and Lorenzo Patrese on the wheel did set the second fastest lap of the afternoon session which is the 7th performance of the day and the fastest in Gold Cup.

Mercedes #48 eighth

Auer, Engel and Morad with #48 Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER were eighth of the day with a fastest lap time of 2:19.301 set during the morning session by Auer.

First Lamborghini ninth

Jordan Pepper did set the third fastest lap of the afternoon session in #163 GRT Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 he shares with Perera and Mapelli in 2:19.415. It is the ninth performance of the day.

ROWE Racing #98 BMW 10th

Last year winning trio Eng, Yelloly and Wittman were 10th of the day with #98 BMW M GT3 in 2:19.432. They also share with Max Hesse during the test days.
