BMW-Porsche duel in Green Hell for NLS2

NLS

After Porsche dominated NLS season opener with Falken Motorsports taking 1-2, BMW with ROWE Racing are eager to get their revenge this Saturday at Nürburgring.

Four Porsche 911 GT3 R versus 1 BMW M4 GT3 EVO

The four Porsche 911 GT3 R SP9 PRO entries at the first 2025 endurance race on the Nordschleife emerged in the top 4 while ROWE Racing’s BMW M4 GT3 was the best non-Porsche runner in fifth place and GetSpeed’s Mercedes AMG GT3 followed in P6. The two German manufacturers remain the best candidates for a win of the second round of the Nürburgring Langstrecke Serie (NLS 2).

Audi and Lamborghini as outsiders

Pepper / Bortolotti / Engstler driving #27 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 were seventh after leading in early stages of the race while Winkelhock / Ludwig on board of #15 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2 followed in eighth and Veremenko / Stippler in JUTA’s #8 Audi complete the top 10. Those three could also play with BMW, Mercedes AMG and Porsche RPO teams for a podium.

At NLS 1, Aston Martin was represented by a PRO-AM entry with Krognes / Walkenhorst in #36 Aston Martin Vantage GT3. This time, Walkenhorst enters an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in each sub-class of the SP9 with the two works drivers Christian Krognes and Mattia Drudi in the Pro class. As Krognes performed a front row start during qualifying, we view the pair as a serious candidate for victory at NLS 2.

Ferrari - Ford Mustang and Mc Laren also in SP9

The sister #2 Mustang did not take the start after a crash in qualifying. The #69 Dörr McLaren 720S GT3 Evo ended sixth after qualifying third during NLS 1 but were disqualified.
