24 Hours of Nürburgring Top Qualifying

The Top Qualifying of the 52nd ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring (N24) was dominated by Max Hesse in the #72 BMW M4 GT3 - BMW M Team RMG, securing pole position in 8:10.992.

Top Qualifying 1

The 15 cars that had not yet qualified for Top Qualifier 2 did fight for the 5 remaining seats during Top Qualifying 1. Nico Varone with last year winner #1 Frikadelli Ferrari 296 GT3 was the fastest in the exercise, ahead of Sheldon van der Linden in #98 ROWE Racing BMW M4 GT3. Dan Harper with #72 RMG BMW M4 GT3, Maro Engel in the #130 Getspeed Mercedes-AMG and Arjun Maini in the #3 Bilstein Mercedes AMG rounded the top 5 who eventually would participate to the Top Qualifying 2 with the 12 already qualified during the qualifiers races prior to the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring weekend.

Four different manufacturers in first four places of Top Qualifying 2

17 GT3 did participate to the final qualifying which sets the grid for the nine first rows of the 52nd ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring.

After setting the best times in the qualifying sessions on Thursday and Friday, the #72 RMG BMW M4 GT3 dominated the session with Max Hesse securing pole position at the 52nd ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring since he did set the fastest lap of both days in 8:10.992. Hesse was the only driver below the 8.11 mark.

"It's a really great feeling. For me, pole position is the result of five years of hard work. We are in a great starting position for the race and the car works perfectly. Of course, we still have a long race ahead of us - but today we are just happy," said Max Hesse. Source: 24h-Rennen.de

Laurens Vanthoor was second best with #911 Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) in 8:11.398 which puts him on first row of tomorrow’s start grid. "Grello" driver Vanthoor was also satisfied. "The car was really good to drive. The laps on the Nordschleife alone were really fun. My pulse was at 190. I tried, but we are just behind the BMW. That's still a great starting position for tomorrow's race," he said. Source: 24h-Rennen.de

Ricardo Feller drove the #16 Scherer Sport PHX Audi R8 LMS GT3 in third position in 8:11.406 and will start from second row.

Kelvin van der Linde in the #27 Abt Lamborghini was fourth in 8:11.508.
