Katherine Legge’s Benchmark during practice 1 Thursday remained on top of GTD/GTD PRO time sheet after four practices ahead of ROLEX 24 at Daytona.
2023 Indianapolis IndyCar female driver Katherine Legge bested the GT field-leading lap time set earlier in Thursday morning's first session in 1:46.585 with #66 Gradient Racing Acura NSX GT3 EVO2 she’ll share with S. Monk, T. Calderon and S. McAleer.
Three GTD PRO follow Legge’s Benchmark
Two GTD PRO Corvette Z06 GT3.R and the GTD PRO Lexus follow Legge in combined practices time sheet.
Earl Bamber was the fastest GTD/GTD PRO driver during Practice 3 (1:44.770) with Corvette Z06 GT3.R #4 ahead of A. Sims with sister car #3 when both GTDPRO Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsport Corvette Z06 GT3.R headed the night session. Bamber will share driving duties in Corvette Z06 GT3.R #4 with T. Milner and N. Catsburg.
Last year champion J. Hawksworth with #14 Lexus RC F GT3 was second best of GTD PRO for only 0.013 seconds with a lap time of 1:44.783 during practice 1. It was the third fastest lap of combined sessions. Note that the Vasser Sullivan #14 Lexus RC F GT3 team J. Hawksworth / B. Barnicoat / K. Kirkwood / M. Conway did not participate in Thursday night and Friday’s practices.

R. Foley was fifth best GTD/GTD PRO combined and second in GTD class with #96 GTD Turner Motorsport BMW M GT3 he shares with P. Gallagher, J. Walker and J. Klingmann in 1:46.860.
Pfaff Motorsports is no longer entering a Porsche but a McLaren 720S GT3 EVO shared by M. Kirchhöfer, O. Jarvis, J. Hinchcliffe and A. Rossi still keeping #9 in GTD PRO. M. Kirchhöfer set the fastest lap of the quatuor in 1:46.934, which is the sixth performance of combined GTD/GTD PRO during the four practices ahead of ROLEX 24 at Daytona.
M. Cairoli set the seventh fastest lap of combined GTD/GTD PRO with #60 GTD PRO Iron Lynx Lamborgini Huracan GT3 EVO2 he shares with C. Schiavoni, M. Cressoni and former Formula 1 driver R. Grosjean in 1:46.955 during practice 3. He is the last one with a lap time under the 1:47 mark.
Both Ford Mustang GT3s were rather in the back of GTD PRO ranking during day practices until H. Tincknell set a lap of 1:47.0235 during Thursday night’s practice with #64 GTD PRO Ford Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3 he shares with C. Mies and M. Rockenfeller.
Two Ferrari 296 GT3 round the top 10 GTDs
#34 Conquest Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 dominates the GTD PRO works drivers sister car thanks to the 1:47.038 lap time set by A. Costa Balboa during the first practice Thursday morning which is the third fastest lap in GTD class and ninth combined GT/GTD PRO classes. Costa Balboa shares the #34 Ferrari 296 GT3 with M. Franco, A. Balzan and C. Sbirrazzuoli.
James Calado was the fastest of the 4 Ferrari works drivers on board of #62 GTD PRO Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 he shares with WEC co-driver Alessandro Pier Guidi and IMSA regular drivers Daniel Serra and Davide Rigon in 1:47.045. The #62 GTD PRO Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3 is seventh in GTD PRO class and 10th in combined GTD entries.
