Nick Tandy driving #6 Porsche 963 was suddenly hit ahead of 10A curve by cars he was overtaking. It came after the 20 High Class Racing LMP2 driven by Dennis Andersen collided with the #023 Ferrari which went into #70 Inception Racing McLaren which collided with the #6 Porsche. The #6 Porsche 963 also driven by Mathieu Jaminet is out of contention for the title following this accident.
Incidents for three GTPs
The #60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura lost two laps due to a suspension repair after Tom Blomqvist was hit by #1 Paul Miller BMW M4 GT3. Thanks to caution periods, the #60 Acura team returned to the lead lap.
Alexander Sims, driving the #31 Cadillac ran the red light at the end of the lane followed by Sheldon van der Linde. As he realized his mistake Sims hit the brakes and van der Linde couldn’t avoid the rear of the Cadillac which incurred left-rear bodywork damage.
#01 Cadillac takes over #10 WTR Acura in the Michelin Endurance Cup
Points are awarded based on the ranking after 4 hours of racing., with five going to the class leader, four for second place, three for third and two points to all others in the class.
As #01 Cadillac was second behind #7 Porsche, #31 Cadillac fourth behind #24 BMW and #10 WTR Acura ninth, #01 Cadillac is now second in the Michelin Endurance Cup with 29 points ahead of #10 WTR Acura (28 points). #31 Cadillac remains first with 35 points.
