Dutch driver Beitske Visser back in LMP

LMP

During the ADAC Racing Weekend in Assen, the first weekend of September, the fastest female driver of the Netherlands Beitske Visser will join BHK Motorsport in their LMP3 in the Prototype Cup Germany.

In the beginning of July driver Alex Cascatau had an unfortunate accident on the Norisring. While driving in the formation lap Alex hit a bump in the road and crashed in to the wall with 120 km/h. Due to the crash Alex broke two vertabrae and is out for the rest of the season. That left the BHK Motorsport team with two challenges for the remaining of the season. To built a new car and find another competent driver to join regular driver Elia Sperandio.

“I received an e-mail from the teammanager of BHK Motorsport if I wanted to test the LMP2 car in Monza and Iimmediately said yes.” Beitske allready has experience in the LMP2 for driving for the Richard Mille team two years ago and is looking forward to drive the LMP3 on the circuit of Asssen. “It’s a fast and flowing circuit and also is Assen the first circuit that I competed in motorsport. That day I also won in the SuperCarChallenge.” Assen is a circuit that has treated Beitske well in the past and one where she believes that the podium is the goal.

The difference between the LMP2 and LMP3 is speed, size but also the steering is on the right. “I am used to sit in the middle or on the left but I think after the first corner oh it’s like this and I’ll be fine.”

The BHK Motorsport team were very busy during the summer and made a choice to swap from Ligier to Duqueine. That means it’s a brand new car for Beitske Visser but also for teammate Elia Sperandio. “He is a bit smaller then me so that will be a nice challenge doing the seat fit.”

Teamowner Francesco Dracone, who compeets in the LMP2, is very pleased that Visser is joining his team. “I’m very happy to have Beitske on board in the Protype Cup. I raced against miss B in the ELMS in LMP2 and she proved to be fast and consistent in sports car racing. The fact she’s 40 minutes away from Assen is a plus as well. She’s definitely one of the fastest girls in the world.” Says Francesco Dracone who has all the faith in the drivingskills of the Dutchie.
