Both Acura’s dominated the race, the 5 Cadillac Dpi have never been able to compete even though several cautions and a one-hour red flag for storm reduced the gap at the end of the race. After red flag restart, the race lasted less than 1/2 hour after a safety car released them.

Both #60 Meyer Shank Racing W/Curb-Agajanian and #10 Konica Minolta Acura Arx-05 traded the lead many times in favor of pit stops or smart maneuver from Felipe Albuquerque, who definitively had his day.

In the first lap of the race, Filipe Albuquerque took over Blomqvist before the bus stop chicane after gaining the momentum in the Esses, and in the third lap of the last 1/2 hour race post red flag, Albuquerque passed Blomqvist again in another smart manœuver of its kind.

It was a serious relief for the Wayne Taylor Racing ARX-05 team when Felipe Albuquerque crossed the checkered flag 0.861 sec. ahead of Blomqvist with #60 Acura.

Tom Blomqvist and Oliver Jarvis with #60 Meyer Shank Racing W/Curb-Agajanian ended P2 after leading 78 laps of the 162 covered.

The Cadillacs always watched the battle between the Acura’s from a distance with the Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillacs battling in third and fourth. Sebastien Bourdais’ #01 was ahead of Earl Bamber in the #02 until Bamber took him over in lap 20.

At the restart of the fourth caution, Bourdais definitively took over sister car #02 to cross the checkered flag in third position with Renger Van Der Zande.
