Matteo Cairoli tops free practices at Macau

Matteo Cairoli did set the perfect lap during both free practices of the FIA GT World Cup on the streets of Macau this morning.

During the second free practice, 12 drivers did improve Raffaele Marciello’s first free practice Benchmark.

Matteo Cairoli with #120 Porsche 911 GT3R (992) was fastest of both free practice sessions this morning at Macau. He did set the best lap of 1:15.532 during his 12th and last lap of free practice 2.

After setting the fastest lap during free practice 1 in 2:16.150, Raffaele Marciello with Mercedes-AMG GT3 #48 was 0,033 seconds slower than Cairoli during FP2.

Daniel Juncadella driving the Mercedes-AMG GT3 #91 was third fastest of the day only 0.005 seconds short of factory mate Marciello.

It didn’t take long for Daniel Serra with #51 Ferrari 296 GT3 to learn the Macau race track as he was fourth of today’s free practices with a best lap of 2:15.630 which is more than 3 seconds faster than his best lap during free practice 1.

2018 winner Augusto Farfus with Rowe Racing BMW M4 GT3 #11 did get the first BMW in the top 5 of both sessions.

First Audi 7th

Behind Sheldon van der Linde with #32 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 in P6, 2017 winner Edoardo Mortara did get his Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2 in P7 of the day. Maro Engel (2015 winner) was the third Mercedes-AMG GT3 factory driver in P8.

6 Porsche 911 GT3R (992) follow

Laurens Vanthoor (#99), Earl Bamber (#22), Alessio Picariello (#15), Kevin Estre (#27), Ye Hongil (#33) and Thomas Preining ((#28) follow in that order, each with a Porsche 911 GT3R (992).

All drivers did improve their best lap from FP1. Find hereafter Free Practice 2 provisional classification.
